REGGIO INSPIRED CURRICULUM

REGGIO INSPIRED CURRICULUM

At Happy Valley Early Learning Centre we are thrilled to be collaborating with Reggio Exchange to enhance our pedagogical approach. This partnership allows us to deepen our commitment to inquiry-based learning, ensuring that our educators are equipped with the tools and knowledge to inspire curiosity and foster meaningful learning experiences for every child. Using a self-guided curriculum, children are allowed to express themselves in different ways as they develop their personality. Activities such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and drama are encouraged, as these are all seen as “languages” children use. By allowing children to engage in meaningful learning experiences, the Reggio Emilia approach helps to instil a love of learning, enhances early education and prepares children for the transition into school. Under the Reggio Emilia approach, children are viewed as active, capable and valuable members of the community. They are encouraged to explore, question, and interpret the world during the first five years of life, as creating a solid foundation of experiences during these early years helps each child reach their full potential. Educators using the Reggio Emilia approach believe that children should have some control over their learning. Children have many languages in art, music, and drama, and they should be encouraged to learn through experiences like listening, moving, touching and observing.

There is an inner voice that pushes children on, but this force is greatly multiplied when they are convinced that facts and ideas are resources, just as their friends and the adults in their lives are precious resources. It is especially at this point that children expect – as they have from the beginning of their life adventure – the help and truthfulness of grownups

What Our Families Say

Thank you to the wonderful team at Happy Valley for taking care of my two children for the last few years, my daughter has been attending since the centre first opened in early 2020. We are and have always been very happy with the centre, my kids are happy at drop off and pick up, and have built amazing relationships with staff. The management team are supportive of your needs and flexible in accommodating extra days of care when needed, and always go the extra mile to ensure that children are looked after.
The centre itself is spacious, with well fit out, large indoor and outdoor areas - so if you have a very active toddler who needs lots of exercise like my son, this childcare is for you!
Although the current situation with works around the centre may be challenging with drop off and pick up, it is well worth your peace of mind, and the disruption does not affect the children once dropped off.
Thanks again to the wonderful team!!

Cannot speak highly enough of this AMAZING centre. I am absolutely blown away. My son goes there happily and doesn't want to leave. He comes home so happy. The rooms are immaculate. The food is healthy, delicious and varied. Sri is a wonderful chef. The facilities are excellent. They really care for the children and are truly wonderful at what they do! Danielle the centre manager is EXCELLENT, always kind, helpful and lovely. She knows each child by name and always helps in each room. Christine is always HELPFUL, positive, smiling, happy and reassuring. I am so glad I followed community reviews and sent my son here. The best centre! Thank you for everything that you do for my son and our family. ❤️
