At Happy Valley Early Learning, we believe that children begin their learning journey from the moment they are born. The years from birth to eight years old are fundamental in establishing a child’s sense of identity, value and wellbeing. But what they learn in their first few years of life — and how they learn it — does more than just help them navigate childhood, it establishes much of their future success and wellbeing.
We will develop each child’s sense of “Being, Belonging and Becoming” ensuring that we cover the five learning outcomes of The Early Years Learning Framework. We will support this by providing play spaces of natural and manufactured materials that are reflective of the world, the community, the child, the family, imaginary and the creative. Our holistic and flexible educational programs focus on children’s interests, individual strengths and learning through play. Our educators will guide and support children’s learning through an emergent curriculum, they will provide time, space and resources for children to discover, explore and engage.
We understand that families and their culture are the first and most imperative teachers in each child’s life. We aim to be respectful and supportive of families, endeavouring to build collaborative partnerships with them and the wider community.
We embrace the importance of diversity within the community and the entire world. We strive to reflect diversity throughout our centres, in our programming and practice. We believe that all children should be treated with equity, and their culture embraced and recognized.
We are committed to creating an environment that is responsive to the individual needs of each child, providing exciting opportunities for learning and exploration. Our programs are crafted by educators who embrace the philosophy that “children learn through play.” We integrate a diverse range of subjects into our programs, including art, mathematics, music, science, sports, literacy, natural investigation, and languages other than English (LOTE). These subjects are woven into our curriculum in a way that encourages children to ask questions, conduct research, hypothesize, and discover.
Our goal is to deliver the highest standard of care and education in a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment. Central to our philosophy is the importance of an inclusive environment that welcomes all families and children. We take pride in our ability to recognize and celebrate the rich diversity of cultures, religions, and beliefs within our community.
Each room in our center offers educationally appropriate and engaging programs tailored to meet the needs of both the group and the individual child. We focus on supporting the holistic development of each child—physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, creatively, and morally.
We acknowledge the critical role of play in a child’s development and design experiences that reflect the interests of the children in our care. We value the partnerships between families and educators, striving tocreate an environment where we collaborate with families to provide the most supportive setting for theirchildren to reach their fullest potential.
For children starting from 6 weeks, fosters strong relationships between educators and children through positive interactions and a safe environment. We focus on physical development, mental well-being, and health by integrating an indoor-outdoor program, daily mindfulness, and yoga.
Our curriculum emphasises STEM education and the Arts to build communication and literacy skills. We embed Indigenous culture through the 8 Ways of Indigenous Learning and encourage children to share their home culture. With intentional teaching and the environment as a third teacher, we guide and support children's learning.
We recognise the importance of routines as learning opportunities for our growing toddlers. Daily, predictable tasks help toddlers build self-confidence, communication, social skills, and self-control. Our daily routine aids in smooth transitions between activities, allowing children to participate at their best.
We balance routine and flexibility to cater to each child's developmental needs, ensuring a stimulating learning environment. Social and emotional well-being are key, with educators providing warm support in a nurturing setting. Our program builds on the curriculum, exploring science, math, arts, Indigenous culture, and drama, while fostering social skills and friendships.
Our 3-4 year old Kinder offers a rich play-based program, with access to both indoor and outdoor spaces. Quality play experiences in this room support memory skills, language development, and behaviour regulation, preparing children for school.
Our curriculum is driven by a project and investigation approach, allowing children to explore their ideas and interests while preparing for kindergarten. The program includes group activities focused on current projects, math, literacy, Italian, STEM, drama, and culture.
Our 4 -5 yeah old Kinder program offers a blend of teacher-initiated and playbased activities tailored to each child's needs, interests, and choices. Daily curriculum includes STEM, literacy, drama, creative arts, indoor and outdoor play.
Our literacy and phonics programs develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, while our numeracy programs focus on problem-solving with numbers, patterns, and shapes. We prioritise creating a safe, secure, and happy environment where children can learn freely in a natural, harmonious setting.
Additionally, children participate in routine community outings and attend fortnightly beach and bush kinder programs.

What are some of the benefits of completing two years of kindergarten?
The benefits of two years of kindergarten are endless. Quality early childhood education and positive relationships with early childhood professionals are linked to improved outcomes in areas that matter for success later in life, including those related to language, literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional wellbeing.
